So while most of you in here are complaining about the board members representing the game, I'm more concerned with the fact that Mads Øland is in charge of this. That man was single handed the reason behind DBU (Danmarks Boldspil Union, the top football association in Denmark) nearly getting a 4 year suspension from UEFA tourmanents (a suspended sentence was given), because he rigidly demanded, during the 2017 negotiations, that a national team should offer the selected players, the same terms as a work-giver gives his/hers employees - which makes no sense, at all, as no national team in the world is offering this, and you can, at all times, decline the invitation as a selected player for a national team. As the "employment" is very short and temporary, you usually only get a commission (and potentially some agreed bonuses). He even managed to lobby the cause for the discrepancy between the player's union and DBU, to be because of a mere ~100k dollars, when this was complete bullshit. To fully understand the ramifications of this (if the demands were to be met), DBU would've been forced to pay e.g. maternal leave; despite the fact, that DBU only temporarily employs the players for e.g. a qualification game, or a playoff, or an international friendly game. While I understand he's "fighting the player's cause", he's also well known to be an ass-hat, who will make far fetched demands that ultimately hurts the players. He just knows how to sway the players to be on his side. Don't be surprised if some major lock-out and/or conflict will break out in the following years. He's well known to love the drama, and be the front-runner in the following media-shit-show.
