Apel do przewodniczących partii w PE o nieprzyspieszanie głosowania ws. ACTA2!

W dniu dzisiejszym ruch #stopacta2 wystosował oficjalny komunikat do liderów grup politycznych Parlamentu Europejskiego. W swoim apelu zwracamy się z żądaniem, aby sprzeciwili się oni propozycji EPP, która ma na celu przyspieszenie terminu głosowania nad dyrektywą #acta2.

Każdy z nas jest #stopacta2. Wy również! Wyślijcie tę wiadomość do wszystkich liderów frakcji PE wymienionych poniżej. Niech mają świadomość, że społeczeństwo nie życzy sobie, by dyrektywa, która budzi tak ogromne kontrowersje w społeczeństwie, wdrażana była po cichu i z pominięciem istotnych argumentów ogromnej rzeszy jej przeciwników. Nie możemy pozwolić, by zabronili nam zaprotestować 23 marca!

Dear XXX (wstaw imię lidera),

We are #stopacta2 – a group of activists who believe in free exchange of information and fair use of content on the Internet. We oppose all attempts to censor and control the Internet in Europe. We are addressing you in regards to the copyright directive in the digital single market.

According to the recent information received from the European Parliament we are aware that the EPP fraction are insisting on rescheduling the final vote in the European Parliament ahead of the planned end of March session (MARCH II) to the upcoming one (MARCH I).

The directive (especially articles 11 and 13) is highly controversial and public debate is currently in progress. Many groups of society – including us, the Internet users – find the proposed regulations highly objectionable and are demanding the right to have their say. Numerous EU citizens are currently contacting their MEPs on this matter. The 23rd of March has been chosen as the main protest day on which street demonstrations are planned throughout Europe.

We see ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to expedite the vote. It therefore seems very likely to be an attempt to hide this issue from the public and prevent the citizens of EU from exercising their democratic prerogatives.

Therefore, we request that you stop this undemocratic and unacceptable plan by voting AGAINST the schedule change in the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament this Thursday.
