GUI Developer

A challenging role as a Senior GUI developer in a demanding business (Risk Management and Portfolio Optimization / Analytics). Duties and responsibilities include:
• Implementing web GUIs using state-of-the-art technologies and libraries
• Collaborate with developers, requirements engineers, delivery project managers, and business experts
• Rapid prototyping / contribute to building a user experience Lab through which key requirements will be validated, discovered, and iteratively refined

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
• Very good knowledge and experience of Angular 5/6
• Track record of visualizing beautiful analytics/big data, ideally in a financial / risk management context, (e.g. wealth projections, risk factors)
• Proven track record in UI Technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, REACT, REST services
• Knowledge of UX design with experience in UI rendering in desktop and handheld devices.
• Extensive knowledge of responsive data visualisation user interface design
• Proactive and ability to autonomously organize own work while delivering value for the business
• Able to produce results rapidly and with little supervision
• Experience of Agile practices and processes (e.g. SCRUM, KANBAN)
• Candidates able to share links of past work featuring beautiful GUIs with advanced and responsive analytical /big data/scientific visualizations will have priority

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Knowledge and experience with micro-service based architectures
• Knowledge and experience with Java
• Experience in DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud & containerization technologies)
• Experience in Build and Test Tools (e.g. Jenkins, GIT/Subversion, etc.)
• Previous experience of a development role in finance, e.g. banking, trading, asset management, risk management
• Understanding of financial products, time series and risk management principles

Python Quant Developer

Key Responsibilities
A challenging role as a Senior Python Quant Developer in a demanding business (Risk Management and Portfolio Optimization). Duties and responsibilities include:
• Translating high level business requirements into quantitative models
• Implementation of requirements, with particular focus on scalability, stability, automated testing
• Interaction with an international team of developers, architects, quantitative investment professionals

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:
• Time pressure to achieve required workload
• Flexibility to incorporate business requirements which might change

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong experience and knowledge of Python (+ 5 years)
• Knowledge of portfolio optimization techniques and theory, including principles of risk management in finance
• Understanding of financial time series and products, ability to understand and solve data quality issues in financial products
• Master studies in technical discipline from renowned university (math, computer science engineering, physics) concluded in rapid time and with excellent marks
• Previous experience of a development role in finance or computationally intense computing, e.g. banking, trading, asset management, risk management, insurance, scientific computing/academia
• Experience with Linux environments
• Team work

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience with Java
• Experience in DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud & containerization technologies)
• Previous experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience with data visualization and web GUIs (e.g. Flask)
• PhD in quantitative area recommended
• Interest in recent developments in AI & Machine Learning
• Priority will be given to local candidates (except if agency is willing to pay to send candidate to Zurich for interview).
