The engineering team at Netflix pushed Cassandra to sustain ~1.1 million random writes per second on a 1,140 vCPU cluster in EC2.

Google also achieved 1 million writes/sec using a 330-virtual machine Cassandra cluster.

Just last week, Google’s Cloud Platform Blog published a post where the Aerospike database hit 1 million writes/sec on a 50-machine cluster.

I bonus z #hackernews:

The Cassandra test mentioned [1] sustained loss of 1/3 instances.
