Bitcoin continues to levitate around the 290 $ level as market #!$%@? remain frozen by indecision and uncertainty. The breakout rally we saw over the past week has made the bears think twice about whether their precious shorts will continue to be profitable, while bulls remain shellshocked from almost two years of failed breakouts and false hope. Given the extended nature of the bear market, we want to stay bullish due to the fact that even if this is a countertrend bounce it should have more juice than we have seen so far, not to mention the weekly chart is still a thing of beauty.

Technically speaking, our ProTrade was setting up nicely given our entry price was right in the middle of the short term OTE long zone and right on the uptrend line, but unfortunately the market was too bullish to get down there (only got to the 62% Fib). Despite the recent encouraging price action, Willy has flatlined in no mans land, the Stochastic is already nearing overbought territory, A/D shows a pause in accumulation following the recent dump, ergotics are weak despite this bounce, and there is a massive volume profile notch right at the 280 $ level that we would really like to see filled prior to another leg higher. For these reasons we are still expecting the current consolidation to test slightly lower levels in the 270 to 280 $ area, which is where we want to get long for a retest of the key 300 $ mark.

Remember that the intermediate term charts remain overbought and ultimately price could correct all the way down to the 240 to 250 $ support zone prior to regaining its footing to the upside. It is critical that the volume profile PoC at 270 $ hold in order for the nearer term bias to remain bullish. If not, we would be stopped out of the current ProTrade, but would try to get long once again down in the 240 to 250 $ region.
