CDPR will most likely hire (or already hired) some infosec company to investigate this and deal with the hackers and that company in 99% of cases will just pay the ransom and retrieve the files, while CDPR stays clean and will not have to put "paying $7M in ransom to hackers" in their accounting books which would look bad to shareholders.
This is how big corporations do this kind of stuff when they get hacked and ransomed. And this is why so many hacker groups are thriving, it's very lucrative business for them.
