Kilka ciekawych wypowiedzi przedstawiające nieco mniej znane oblicze ojców chrzestnych współczesnej lewicy: antysemitów, rasistów, słowianofobów, zwolenników masowego terroru i ludobójstwa. Zapraszam.

Marksizm kontra Żydzi

Obszerny artykuł z 1984 roku opisujący od podstaw lewicowe korzenie antysemityzmu sięgające post-rewolucyjnej Francji. Przechodząc następnie do Marksa, który wyposażył współczesną mu lewicę w świecki zabobon antysemityzmu i gruntownie go utrwalił nadając mu pseudonaukowe podstawy. Jego znany wstręt wobec klasy kapitalistów był czymś w rodzaju szerszego uogólnienia młodzieńczego wstrętu wobec Żydów.

There can be no doubt that as a young man Marx was anti-Semitic. He got his theoretical anti-Semitism from Bruno Bauer, a lifelong anti-Semite. In the early and mid-1840’s, when Marx was in his twenties, his anti-Semitism was acute.

Autor dalej wskazuje na przekonanie Marksa, że rasy(narody) są ostatecznie poddane tym samym zasadom historycznego determinizmu co wyszczególnione przez niego społeczne klasy. A w czasie rewolucji niektóre klasy będą musiały zostać usunięte. Jeszcze dalej idzie Engels, który wprost przewiduje , że:

The next world war will result in the disappearance from the face of the earth not only of reactionary classes and dynasties, but also of entire reactionary peoples. And that, too, is a step forward.

W dalszej części opisując kolejne wymiary antysemityzmu stosowane przez XX wieczne totalitaryzmy i ile zawdzięczają intelektualnemu wkładowi pewnego brodatego przechrzta z Niemiec. Kolejnym niezwykle ciekawym źródłem wiedzy nt stosunków wobec niepożądanych grup etnicznych jaki żywiły ikony lewicowej walki i wolność i równość jest artykuł Engelsa opublikowany w Neue Rheinische Zeitung w 1849 roku pt Węgierska Walka . Słowianie przedstawieni są tam jako dzicy barbarzyńcy opóźniający jedynie rozwój europejskiego kontynentu. Germańscy panowie i ich węgierscy sojusznicy (a dzisiaj rewolucyjni i postępowi działacze z tych narodów) od lat razem w walce przynoszą tej niewdzięcznej dziczy zdobycze cywilizacji i kultury. Brzmi znajomo?

I moje ulubione. Engels "Pochodzenie rodziny, własności prywatnej i państwa":

Tutaj krótka rozmowa z Georgem Watsonem, wybitnym historykiem i wykładowcą z Cambridge i Pierrem Rigoulot z paryskiego Institut d'histoire Sociale na temat omawianej kwestii. Zdaniem Watsona Marks i Engels byli pierwszymi nowożytnymi europejskimi myślicielami, którzy otwarcie popierali etniczne ludobójstwa. Polecam zresztą obejrzeć cały film. Mocny, ale warto.

Co ciekawe sami marksiści uczciwe przyznają się do rasizmu i słowianofobii swoich wzorów. Tłumaczą ich koniecznością postępowania wedle naukowych praw historii, które wspólnie odkryli. Pseudonauka jako usprawiedliwianie rasizmu, terroru i ekstreminacji niższych ras i narodów? Hm...

Rozważania na temat stosunku Marksa do rosyjskiego ruchu rewolucyjnego, należy rozpocząć od stosunku Marksa do samej Rosji. To właśnie stosunek do Rosji był przyczyną wszystkich późniejszych sprzeczności. Materializm historyczny, czyli marksowska analiza procesów historycznych, był wielkim naukowym odkryciem, ale nie koniecznie się to przekładało na konsekwencje politycznego ruchu, którym Marks chciał kierować. Wyciąganie politycznych wniosków z materializmu historycznego było bardzo niebezpieczne dla XIX wiecznych komunistów.

Oczywiście Słowianie i Żydzi nie byli jedynymi nacjami, którymi gardzili dwaj niemieccy komuniści. Podobnie rasistowski stosunek mieli do Murzynów czy... Chińczyków. W swojej książce "Karl Marx: Racist" Nathaniel Weyl pisze:

These were ideas,” Weyl notes, “…which Marx would adopt and transform…Publicly and for political reasons , both Marx and Engels posed as friends of the Negro. In private, they were anti-black racists of the most odious sort. They had contempt for the entire Negro race, a contempt they expressed by comparing Negroes to animals, by identifying black people with ‘idiots’ and by continuously using the opprobrious term ‘n****r’ in their private correspondence.”

I jeden z przykładów:

Marx's second daughter, Laura, married Paul Lafargue who, Engels said, had "one eighth or one twelfth Nigger blood". In 1887, Paul was a candidate for the Paris #!$%@? Council, in a district which contained the Jardin des Plantes and the Zoo. In a letter to Laura (April 26, 1887), Engels referred to: "Paul, the candidate of the Jardin des Plantes - and the animals" and added: "Being in his quality as a nigger a degree nearer to the rest of the animal kingdom than the rest of us, he is undoubtedly the most appropriate representative of that district."

Obrona niewolnictwa? Nie ma sprawy!

As for slavery, there is no need for me to speak of its bad aspects. The only thing requiring explanation is the good side of slavery. I do not mean indirect slavery, the slavery of proletariat; I mean direct slavery, the slavery of the Blacks in Surinam, in Brazil, in the southern regions of North America. Direct slavery is as much the pivot upon which our present-day industrialism turns as are machinery, credit, etc. Slavery is therefore an economic category of paramount importance.

A w taki sposób Marks odpowiedział na słowa Josepha Proudhona, czołowego francuskiego socjalisty na temat emancypacji amerykańskich Murzynów:

Without slavery, North America, the most progressive of countries, would be transformed into a patriarchal country. Wipe out North America from the map of the world and you will have anarchy---the complete decay of modern commerce and civilization. Abolish slavery and you will have wiped America off the map of nations.

Niemniej ciekawe jest to, że amerykańskie ruchy socjalistyczne z początków XX wieku także czerpały garściami z rasistowskiej tradycji swoich mentorów. I tak jeden z tamtejszych socjalistycznych dzienników "Social Democratic Herald" 14 września 1901 roku opisuje czarnych jako niższy, zdeprawowany element gwałcący kobiety i dzieci. Natomiast niecały rok później, w maju 1902 roku niejaki Victor Berger, jeden z przywódców amerykańskich socjalistów pisze w tej samej gazecie, że "bez wątpienia Murzyni i mulaci stanowią niższą rasę". Połączenia między rasistowskimi poglądami prekursorów dzisiejszego socjalizmu, a przełożeniem tej ideologii na świat realny nie ograniczają się oczywiście jedynie do kilku rasistowskich artykułów w robotniczych gazetach. Weźmy jako przykład południowoafrykański apartheid, który powstał przede wszystkim jako prawne ukonstytuowanie przywilejów białych robotników i był początkowo najsilniej popierany przez... socjalistyczne związki zawodowe. Profesor ekonomii Thomas Hazllet opisuje panujący w RPA system jako "socjalizm z rasistowską twarzą", pisząc dalej, że:

Zazwyczaj uważa się, że apartheid został stworzony przez zamożnych białych, by zaszkodzić czarnej biedocie. Prawda jest taka, że system ten jest wynikiem wojny klas i w dużym stopniu został stworzony przez białych robotników, walczących przeciwko zarówno czarnej większości, jak i białym kapitalistom

Bez wątpienia szefowie białych związków zawodowych dogłębnie studiowali Marksa i wiedzieli, że tylko współczesna forma niewolnictwa może uchronić ich kraj przed transformacją w państwo patriarchalne i ostatecznym zmieceniem.

I wróćmy jeszcze na chwilę do stosunku komunistów do Chińczyków:

Marx, "Revolution in China and in Europe" (May 20, 1853): "It is almost needless to observe that, in the same measure in which opium has obtained the sovereignty over the Chinese, the Emperor and his staff of pedantic mandarins have become dispossessed of their own sovereignty. It would seem as though history had first to make this whole people drunk before it could rouse them out of their hereditary stupidity

Engels, "Persia and China" (June 5,1857): "... China, the rotting semi-civilization of the oldest State in the world . . . In short, instead of moralizing on the horrible atrocities of the Chinese, as the chivalrous English press does, we had better recognize that this is a war pro aris et focis, a popular war for the maintenance of Chinese nationality, with all its overbearing prejudice, stupidity, learned ignorance and pedantic barbarism . . .

I na sam koniec słowa Georga Watsona z jego artykułu z 1976 roku pt "Race and socialists", które chyba najlepiej oddają cały charakter owej ideologii, co historycznie bezbłędnie się sprawdziło:

Marx and Engels were not socialists who also happened to be racialists, or racialist who happened to be socialists. They openly believed that the one conviction requires other... Equality(according to Marx and Engels) may be pursued – may have to be pursued – by killing those who are genetically unequal.

Dale można też znaleźć wiele pogardliwych wzmianek choćby o Irlandczykach, czy historycznych pochwał wobec podboju arabskiej Afryki przez Francuzów. Interesująca jest też sprawa jak następne pokolenie niemieckich socjalistów dokonało syntezy tych treści z niemieckim nacjonalizmem. Nie mam czasu na dokładniejsze przejrzenie wszystkich źródeł. Zainteresowanym chętnie je podeślę.
