Consciousness seems pretty real, but in my thinking about it seems all too clear it's an illusion... I think I was the me yesterday, who went to the store for pork chops and bell peppers, but that me actually no longer exists. The only thing really linking me to that identity is this chain of causality and the memories it left behind.
If I was vaporized but later cloned and had my memories reinstated, would I still be the same person? My assertion is that I'd be just as much the same person as that person at the grocery store was.
