My tu pitu pitu o Proxima B, a sonda JUNO coraz szybciej drugi raz zbliża się do Jowisza.

Już za kilka dni będzie miał miejsce bliski przelot i związane z tym manewry mające na celu skrócenie orbity maszyny. Docelowo ma ona wynosić 14 dni (obecna orbita to aż 53 dni), a w kulminacyjnym momencie ma ona przelatywać jedyne 5000 kilometrów nad chmurami gazowego giganta!!

Take a peek! The first image from our Juno spacecraft in ‪#‎Jupiter‬’s orbit is here! The spacecraft’s visible-light camera was turned on six days after Juno fired its main engine and placed itself into orbit around the gas giant. High-resolution views are still a few weeks away.

NASA's Juno spacecraft captured a unique time-lapse movie of the Galilean satellites in motion about Jupiter. The movie begins on June 12th with Juno 10 million miles from Jupiter, and ends on June 29th, 3 million miles distant. The innermost moon is volcanic Io; next in line is the ice-crusted ocean world Europa, followed by massive Ganymede, and finally, heavily cratered Callisto.
